    Champaign Co. Halloween events provide spooky fun for all ages

    CHAMPAIGN COUNTY (WCIA) — Halloween is right around the corner and many organizations in Champaign County are working to create spooktacular celebrations for all ages.

    The Champaign Public Library is hosting a “Booktacular Giveaway” from now until Oct. 31. Kids can take home one free book at the Main Library’s Children’s Desk or the Douglass Branch during hours of operation.

    Ninth annual trunk or treat supports Urbana community

    On Oct. 28 and Oct. 29 from 12-6 p.m., Latea on 6th St. in Champaign is hosting a Halloween cup decorating event for kids. They’ll provide stickers, colors, ribbons, googly eyes, and more.

    For Champaign County residents looking for something spookier, The Axe Bar in Champaign has you covered!

    On Oct. 29 The Axe Bar will host a karaoke night featuring a costume contest. Winners will receive a cash prize. The event will run from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m.

    The Mahomet Public Library will also host a Halloween-themed evening this week. On Oct. 29, dress up in your best costume and compete in a costume contest and BINGO games. The event will run from 6-7:30 p.m. Adults interested in playing can register here .

    The Village of Homer is getting in on the fun as well. On Oct. 31 they’re inviting community members to join them at their 3rd Annual Halloween Party. According to their Facebook page, they’ll have games and prizes, a straw maze, food trucks, Trunk for Treats and more. Food trucks and games will run from 4-7 p.m. and Trunk for Treats will begin at 5 p.m.
