Thousands of residents are without power across the Tri-State as the remnants of Hurricane Helene roll through the area.

The outages come after the region was under a High Wind Warning until 10 p.m. Friday, with gusts of up to 60 miles per hour amid a soaking rain. At its peak, more than 125,000 people were without power.

The majority of early outages were located in the eastern portion of our region. As the storm continued to travel, more outages popped up in the northern part of the Tri-State, including Springboro, Lebanon and Middletown.

More than 35,000 people remain without power Saturday afternoon.

In a statement, Duke Energy said crews will begin working once the system clears the area.

"The remnants of what was Hurricane Helene has made its way up to the Midwest, bringing severe winds and heavy rain," Duke Energy said. "Once the system clears the area, and as conditions allow, our crews will begin assessing damage and making repairs. Thank you for your patience."

We'll update this story with more as we learn about additional power outages in the area.

Wish someone would cover the weather and what's going on in the area. So gusty outside. Everyone is focused on elsewhere.
