    Wiregrass coaches named to All-Star football coaching staff

    DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — Two head coaches from the Wiregrass will represent the area during the AHSAA Alabama high school All-Star game near the end of the year.

    Dothan High School head coach Jed Kennedy and G.W. Long coach David Watts will be in the  66th AHSAA North-South All-Star Football Classic. They have been chosen to serve as assistants on the South team led by Daphne High coach Kenny King.

    Kennedy will serve as the linebackers coach. He is in his third season leading the Dothan Wolves and has been coaching for 17 years. Kennedy has an overall record of 133-58.

    Watts will serve as the running back coach. He has been the head coach at G.W. Long for four years and has spent 24 years in various coaching positions, with an overall record of 28-31.

    The North and South teams include some of the best players from their respective parts of the state.

    The 66th AHSAA North-South All-Star Football Classis will be played at Whitney Stadium on the Mobile University of South Alabama campus. Kickoff is at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 13. The game will be broadcast live on the AHSAA TV Network (WOTM), NFHS Network, and the AHSAA Radio Network.
