DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN)—On Monday night, Emmanuel Christian School announced that its Head of School, Michelle McDaniel, has left.

ECS did not mention a reason for McDaniel’s departure from the school but thanked her “for her contributions” and wished her luck in the future.

In a letter to faculty and parents, the ECS Board said, “We are committed to making the necessary changes to preserve and strengthen our school community. Your partnership is more critical now than ever, and we greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work together to save and sustain our school.”

In McDaniel’s place, Paraswun Brown will immediately step into the role of Interim Head of School.

The school said that during the transition, Bethel Christian Academy will provide “guidance and expertise” to Brown and Emmanuel’s board of directors.

“We understand that transitions can be challenging, but we are confident that with the continued support of our dedicated faculty, staff, parents, and students, we will ensure Emmanuel Christian School continues to thrive,” the board said.

McDaniel has been an educator for almost two decades after obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Faulkner University. Before coming to ECS, she spent around eight years at Central Christian School in Sharpsburg, Georgia.
