DOTHAN, ALA. ( WDHN )–The Wiregrass is experiencing below normal temperatures this week thanks to a strong upper-level low digging into the region from the north.

Tonight is expected to be the coldest night of the week due to the combination of clear skies, light winds, and a very dry airmass overhead. Expect temperatures to fall into the low 40s area wide, with a few of our normally cold spots dipping into the upper 30s.

Although winds on Thursday morning will generally be lighter than the past couple of days, even a light wind will create a wind chill in the low 30s for many spots. We should warm up quickly though, with highs on Thursday afternoon reaching the upper 60s to around 70.

Friday morning will be cold again, with temperatures in the low 40s, but by the afternoon, temperatures will return to the low 70s, marking the beginning of a big warm-up.

This weekend, we will find temperatures in the mid to upper 70s during the afternoon, with the return of the low 80s by Monday.

At this time, rain is not expected over the next seven days.
