ENTERPRISE, Ala (WDHN) — An Enterprise man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison on charges claiming he illegally owned guns as a convicted felon.

In July, 43-year-old Steve Allen Grubbs, Jr., pleaded guilty to illegally possessing firearms as a felon.

According to federal prosecutors, in the summer of 2019, law enforcement began an investigation into suspected drug trafficking at a home in Daleville and, in August of that year, executed a search warrant at the home where Grubbs stayed.

Prosecutors say that among the evidence seized in the raid were two handguns that were owned illegally due to Grubbs having previous felony convictions.

Following his plea agreement, Grubbs was sentenced to 120 months in federal prison on October 16. There is no parole in the federal system.
