FORT LORAMIE, Ohio (WDTN) — This year’s Country Concert will feature the musical talents of a 19-year-old.

According to our partners at Miami Valley Today , Andi Jo Taylor is set to become the youngest performer at Country Concert this summer.

Taylor — a resident of Holland, Ohio — has played various instruments over the years. She had a vocal coach at 7 years old, taught herself to play piano at 9, then started playing guitar before she turned 13.

After teaching herself to play guitar, she would spend days writing and playing.

“I never wanted to ‘become’ a musician per se, it’s just always been in me. I couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else,” Taylor said to Miami Valley Today.

Now she performs full-time, having completed multiple gigs over the past three years, including when she opened for fellow country music artist Scott McCreery last year. She’s known for playing both original songs and covers.

“My first consistent gig was at a Cinco De Mayo in my hometown Holland,” Taylor said to Miami Valley Today. “When I first started out, it was me with a guitar amp and corded microphone. Boy have things changed. Now, you can find me in a bar, restaurant or big stage sporting my cowboy hat, sparkly boots, and my bedazzled microphone for the cherry on top.”

The news of Taylor playing at Country Concert this year was something she wasn’t expecting and brought with it some big emotions.

“It was an overwhelming feeling of gratitude that I’ll never forget,” Taylor said to Miami Valley Today. “When I put my head down on my pillow every night, I always thank God for the opportunities I’ve been given and future ones that I don’t even know about yet. This was an opportunity I didn’t expect to happen to me so soon in my career, but one I am more than prepared for.”
