BELLBROOK, Ohio ( WDTN ) — A popular breakfast destination is celebrating its return to Bellbrook.

The Blue Berry Cafe closed earlier this year in preparation for an expansion into two new locations. After a successful opening in Kettering , the restaurant has once again opened for business in Bellbrook.

It may be a new location, but the owners of the Blue Berry Cafe in Bellbrook say that it’s the same great food and atmosphere that their customers have grown to love over the last 20 years.

Chealsie Moore and her sister, Whitney, were the first in line on Wednesday for the grand opening.

“I was here at 4:53 this morning,” said Chealsie Moore. “Being the first in the door, it’s just kind of breaking a bottle of champagne on a new ship.”

And as soon as the doors opened at 7 a.m., they were the first customers to set foot into the Blue Berry Cafe’s newest location.

In January, the restaurant’s owners announced their original Bellbrook location would close to make way for two new locations. The first opened in February at the former Golden Nugget in Kettering.

The second opened just across the street from its original location, at 129 W. Franklin Street in Bellbrook.

“This is where we began 20 years ago and we’re excited to come back and the community is excited to have us,” said Ray Jean, Blue Berry Cafe co-owner and operator.

The owners say this new spot has one thing their old one didn’t — room to grow.

“It’s quite large in here. And we have a bar and we have three dining rooms plus a patio, and we just really found the perfect home for us,” said Kelley Andary, Blue Berry Cafe co-owner and operator.

And customers are glad the Blue Berry Cafe is here to stay.

“It’s comfort, it’s family. You don’t have the big box store, you have a local community where everyone supports each other,” said Whitney Moore.

“And giant pancakes,” her sister Chealsie added.

Customers can dine at both the Bellbrook and Kettering locations of the Blue Berry Cafe from Tuesday through Sunday. Click here to learn more.
