NEW PARIS, Ohio ( WDTN ) — A new superintendent has been selected for the National Trail Local School District.

During a Board of Education meeting on Sunday, April 28, board members unanimously voted to hire Jennifer Couch as the district’s next superintendent, according to our partners at The Register Herald.

Couch is the current principal of National Trail Middle School. She’s held the position for five years, and has an extensive history with the school district, where she initially student-taught during college.

Couch will replace current Superintendent Bob Fischer, who recently accepted the position of superintendent at Carlisle Local Schools in Warren County. Couch will transition into the position as Fischer transitions out over the next few months.

Couch says she plans to complete her superintendent certification at Bowling Green State University. She will have a mentor superintendent until her certification is complete.

The school district will post the opening for the middle school principal position soon, with the goal to hire someone before the new school year in August.
