    Dayton softball wins first ever A-10 Tournament Championship

    BRONX, New York — The University of Dayton softball team claimed the program’s first-ever Atlantic 10 Championship title with its 3-0 win over Saint Louis on Saturday.

    With the win, Dayton also earns the league’s automatic berth into the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

    Dayton is now 33-19 on the season – the program’s second-consecutive 30-win season. Saint Louis finishes the year with a 31-22 overall mark.

    KEY STATS
    9 – graduate student Sarah Bailitz equaled her career high with nine strikeouts over 6.0 innings pitched
    2 – sophomore Molly Grace was 2-for-3 with two RBI on the afternoon
    2 – Bailitz allowed only two hits in the shutout win
    H – with her single in the third inning, junior Chloe Wong extended her reached-base streak to 17 games
    S – with her fourth save of the season, sophomore Izzy Kemp moved into third place in the Dayton record book with 10 career saves

    The 2024 NCAA DI softball tournament selection show will air Sunday, May 12 on ESPN2 beginning at 7 p.m. Regional-site play will be held May 16-19 with four teams playing at each of the 16 sites in a double-elimination format.
