DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — Gentile Nature Park on Peach Orchard Drive in Kettering is getting ready to open to the public.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is set to take place on June 8 at 10 a.m. and the community is invited to see the upgrades to the park.

The park has been under construction since July of last year. The 19-acre area will offer two 100-foot zip lines, a half-mile walking path and playground areas.

Those who attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony can enjoy food and beverage trucks, and receive free gardening gloves.

Event organizers suggest walking or biking to the park as parking will be limited.
