DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — If you’re a fan of “The Voice” you might have seen Jackson Snelling singing on screen. But on Thursday, Snelling was right here in Dayton.

Today, Snelling visited the same building he was adopted from 22 years ago, returning to his hometown for a special event with Montgomery County Children Services.

At the event, Snelling highlighted his own background as a foster child with autism. He says he uses his music to spread awareness of the importance of adoption and acceptance of autism.

“I get messages from people all the time from people who have a background of adoption or have autism and how they grew up and I can relate to them — it’s everything I’ve ever dreamed of,” said Snelling.

Snelling will perform at the United Way of Greater Dayton’s “Stronger Together Concert” on May 31. That concert takes place at the Greene County Fairgrounds and features a full lineup of country music stars.
