DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — An assistant Greene County prosecutor has been fired after an alleged road rage incident.

According to an incident report from the Riverside Police Department, Christopher Murray was arrested early June 30 on allegations of felonious assault related to the incident.

Around 12:30 a.m. that night, officers responded to the area of Woodman Drive overpass over State Route 35 on report of a fight. When officers arrived, they saw a man standing outside his vehicle with blood on his shorts.

As the man received medical treatment, it was determined that his finger had been bitten off.

The man told police that a second person involved in the fight had fled the scene. Officers later located part of the man’s finger underneath where his vehicle was parked.

The man reported to police that the fight occurred after the other man, later identified as Murray, allegedly failed to drive as the light turned green, leading to the man honking his horn.

Murray allegedly exited his vehicle and proceeded to confront the man, wanting to fight.

The man told police that he opened his driver-side door to respond, since his windows were inoperable. After the two began fighting, the man got on top of Murray, which is when Murray allegedly bit him.

In a statement to 2 NEWS, Greene County Prosecuting Attorney David Hayes confirmed that Murray’s employment at the Greene County office has been terminated.

Hayes also said that Murray has been on leave since July 9.
