DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — Trustees have voted to prohibit cannabis sales within their township.

The Harrison Township Board of Trustees officially voted to prohibit marijuana sales. This includes “adult-use cannabis operators and medical marijuana cultivators, processors and retail dispensaries within Harrison Township.”

Residents share thoughts on first day of recreational cannabis sales

The township quotes Ohio Revised Code Section 3780.25, which states trustees may adopt resolutions to prohibit or limit cannabis operators within their jurisdiction.

Harrison Township joins a growing list of local jurisdictions banning the sale of marijuana.

Recreational marijuana sales began just days ago on Tuesday, Aug. 6. Ohioans voted to legalize recreational marijuana during last year’s election.
