Ohio Task Force 1 crews set to return home from ‘Debby’ tropical storm response staging

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — After being stationed in South Carolina for emergency response support against Tropical Storm Debby, Ohio Task Force 1 (OH-TF1) is heading home.

The 47-member Urban Search and Rescue team were demobilized at 3 p.m. on Thursday, according to a social media post .

The team spent three days staged in South Carolina as the tropical storm brought large amounts of rain. The training operation allowed OH-TF1 to prepare and train for what they anticipate to be a active hurricane season.

They are scheduled to return to headquarters in Vandalia, Ohio around 6:30 p.m. today.
