INDIAN LAKE, Ohio ( WDTN ) — A standoff in Logan County has ended after nearly 11 hours.

The Logan County Sheriff’s Office reported that someone called 911 around 10:30 Wednesday morning claiming “shots had been fired into a residence.” Authorities responded to the northern portion of Indian Lake around Big Bear Path, which remained closed during the incident.

Heavy police presence expected Thursday in Dayton

According to Logan County Sheriff Randy Dodds, deputies tried to breach entry into the home, but an individual inside allegedly fired shots toward them. Dodds told 2 NEWS no one was hit by the gunfire.

Our 2 NEWS crew at the scene witnessed SWAT, Ohio State Highway Patrol and Columbus Fire.

Just before 9:30 p.m., the standoff situation ended. Authorities removed the man from the home he was barricaded in and took him into custody. They say they’ve dealt with this individual in the past, but never with an incident of this magnitude.

Around 11 p.m., our crews observed Ohio BCI arriving on the scene.

We will update this story as new information becomes available.
