The Dayton Police Department told 2 NEWS that an arrest was made by detectives from the Homicide Unit as they took into custody a person alleged to be a suspect in the incident.

The department said that officers responded to reports of a person shot. On scene, officers located the individual and proceeded to administer first aid. The person was pronounced deceased at the scene. The individual was identified by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office as Terry Whatley, 53.
