    Dozens of jobs impacted by closure of area manufacturer

    RICHMOND, Ind. (WDTN) — An area manufacturer is shutting its doors and conducting layoffs, according to a WARN notice.

    TBK America, Inc., a motor vehicle gasoline engine and engine parts manufacturing plant in Richmond, has told the Indiana Department of Workforce Development the facility would be closing. According to the WARN notice, 86 jobs will be impacted by the closure.

    Although an exact closing date has not been announced, the first layoff date is slated for Sept. 30, which will impact 70 jobs. On Nov. 30, nine more jobs will be impacted by the next layoff.

    Workers who are impacted by the closure will be provided separation benefits, according to the WARN notice.
