    Increased traffic enforcement expected in Darke County

    DARKE COUNTY, Ohio ( WDTN ) — Drivers in Darke County can expect to see more patrols in the coming months.

    The Darke County Sheriff’s Office has announced they will be increasing traffic enforcement throughout the county. The initiative kicked off on Tuesday, Aug. 20.

    The sheriff’s office says they have received numerous complaints of vehicles driving at excessive speeds, prompting the increase in patrols. Drivers will see extra traffic patrols on roadways across the county.

    On the first day of increased enforcement, DCSO says deputies conducted 58 traffic stops. Of those stops, 46 people were cited for speeding, one texting while driving, one driving under suspension, four equipment violations, four traffic violations and two license plate violations.

    In a social media post , the sheriff’s office asks all drivers in Darke County to be mindful of posted speed limits.
