    ODNR announces proposed turkey hunting seasons, fishing requirements

    DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is looking for feedback from Ohioans on proposals regarding select fishing requirements and hunting seasons.

    Turkey Hunting Proposals

    The Ohio Wildlife Council has proposed the following dates for Turkey Hunting Seasons in Ohio:

    Turkey Hunting Categories Proposed Season Dates
    Youth April 12 to 13, 2025
    South Zone April 19 to May 18, 2025
    Northeast Zone May 3 to June 1, 2025
    ODNR

    All counties in the Miami Valley, excluding Wayne County, Indiana, are considered in ONDR’s South Zone for turkey hunting.

    Inland Fishing Proposals

    ODNR reports there is a current minimum length requirement of 15-inch for inland fishing of walleye, sauger, and saugeye.

    If approved, the proposed requirement would be lifted at the following locations:

    • Acton Lake
    • Alum Creek Lake
    • Atwood Lake
    • Buckeye Lake
    • Caesar Creek Lake
    • Ferguson Reservoir
    • Findlay Reservoir 1 and 2
    • Indian Lake
    • Metzger Reservoir
    • Piedmont Lake
    • Pleasant Hill Lake
    • Rocky Fork Lake
    • Seneca Lake
    • Tappan Lake
