WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) — A group of area preschoolers recently raised money for a good cause.

Students at Primrose School on Yankee raised $1,504.80 for the Dayton and Southwest Ohio Chapter of A Special Wish. A Special Wish grants a wish for children and young adults living with life-threatening disorders.

According to Hollie Cambria, owner of Primrose School on Yankee, the school held a lemonade stand fundraiser, along with upcoming fundraisers to collect donations for A Special Wish.

“All of that money that we collect throughout the year kind of goes into a pot,” said Cambria. “We use that to grant a wish.”

Cambria told 2 NEWS that while the children ran the lemonade stand, the parents and community already knew that the items were free, but donations would be going to a good cause.

“The lemonade is free and the cookies are free, but parents know that it’s granting the wish and they give money,” said Cambria.

While some community members made donations of a few dollars to the stand, others have decided to give the cause hundreds and even thousands of dollars.

“I’ve been involved in the community for a long time, a lot of different charities,” Cambria said. “People are just very giving in our community and our town.”
