Two new tenants moving into former Babies R Us building

MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) — A spot in a shopping center that once held a Babies R Us store for many years is set to receive new life.

According to commercial real estate information, two new shops are set to share a vacant space at Mad River Station. Golf Galaxy and Sketchers locations will split the former Babies R Us location at 2661 Miamisburg Centerville Road in Miami Township.

Following the bankruptcy announcement of Tru Kids, parent company of Babies R Us, the store closed in 2018. Most recently, the building held Dick’s Warehouse Sale for a few months in 2022, but relocated to the former site of Field and Stream at Austin Landing.

The nearest Sketchers store to the upcoming one is at the Cincinnati Premium Outlets in Monroe. A Golf Galaxy store is just a four-minute drive at 81115 N. Springboro Pike in Miamisburg.

2 NEWS has reached out to Dick’s Sporting Goods, the parent company of Golf Galaxy, as well as Sketchers, for comment on any information related to an expected opening date.
