At least 1 in custody after attempted robbery at area McDonalds

XENIA, Ohio (WDTN) — A person attempted to rob a McDonald’s in Xenia on Saturday.

The Xenia Police Division report that the incident occurred on the 1600 block of N. Detroit Street minutes before midnight on August 31. A male individual entered the fast-food restaurant armed with a gun and commanded that employees open the safe.

The robbery attempt proved unsuccessful and the suspect proceeded to flee the scene.

Following an investigation, police were able to gather intel on the suspect. With assistance from the Greene County Regional SWAT team, “all suspects” were taken into custody. Formal charges are pending until Tuesday.
