DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Christopher’s Restaurant and Catering announced that they will be closing the doors to the restaurant on Saturday, Sept. 7.

The business plans to put all efforts towards growing their catering business and venue rentals.

The owners of the eatery released a statement on social media yesterday announcing the news, saying that they felt they were at a crossroads.

“Catering makes the best sense as it allows us to manage rising and volatile costs better, not be so adversely affected by an inadequate workforce, and have the opportunity to impact thousands of more lives in our community,” the owners, Dave and Erika Krites said.

The restaurant will be open for standard business hours this week, Tuesday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. A final dinner event will be held on Friday evening from 5-9 p.m.

The Catering House will be available for private party rentals. In most cases, the space is free to use. Rental programs will also continue at The Gem .

“To each of you who have been part of the Christopher’s Restaurant journey, thank you for your love, continued support, beautiful smiles and warm hugs. We are always honored when you visit, humbled by your kind words and excited to see you again.”

Anyone looking to acquire the restaurant is advised to contact the Krites as soon as possible.
