New dashboard displays fire department grants

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — An interactive program has been created to provide transparency around fire department grants.

The Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office has unveiled an online database which allows Ohioans to see what grants each department has received over the course of the last five years. Online users have the opportunity to filter by categories when searching.

Ohio Fire Marshal Kevin Reardon reports the dashboard is about allowing the public to take a look at where the funding is going when it comes to their local department.

“We believe this dashboard will be an indispensable resource for Ohio fire departments and first responders in helping to inform decisions and demonstrate the significant impact awarded grants have had on their ability to keep their communities safe,” said Reardon.
