DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A man is heading to prison for the next ten years, according to authorities.

The Department of Justice’s Southern District of Ohio (SDOH) reports Marvin Brown, Jr., 20, of Dayton, was sentenced to serve 120 months in prison. According to SDOH, Brown’s prison sentence is for federal charges of assaulting a postal carrier and using a firearm during a crime of violence.

Citing court documents, the SDOH claims the assault occurred on Dec. 18, 2023.

“Upon finding a postal worker, Brown approached the victim and brandished a handgun at him, demanding his mail bag,” said SDOH. “Brown discharged the firearm at least twice into victim’s postal vehicle.”

Brown reportedly pleaded guilty back in June.
