DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — A new project from the mosaic designers of the 8/4 Memorial is set to begin construction next year at a local nature center.

Englewood’s Aullwood Audubon will be receiving its newest addition in the form of a glow-in-the-dark mosaic.

“I think the Glosaic is really going to blow everyone’s mind. I just can’t wait for everybody to see it. It’s so amazing it’s hard to explain,” said Jes McMillan.

The project, set to debut a year from now, comes from The Mosaic Institute.

McMillan describes the process as making two different pieces of art, one for the daytime and one for the night.

Utilizing glow-in-the-dark technology, charged from UV rays produced by the sun, the new mosaic stones will stay lit even when night falls.

“The luminary quality is just off the charts and we are so excited to introduce it to the world. That will soak in the uv during the day and you just can’t miss it at night, it will glow so bright,” said McMillan.

The mosaic will be designed to fit into the nature-centered atmosphere at Aullwood Audubon.
