HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) — A person is in custody after an alleged robbery Wednesday at a McDonald’s on Edwin C. Moses Boulevard.

According to Dayton Police Lt. Mark Ponichtera, officers were dispatched Wednesday to a reported robbery at McDonald’s in the 2100 block of South Edwin C. Moses Boulevard in Dayton.

Officers searched for the suspect and their vehicle, which were ultimately located at a motel in the 2800 block of North Dixie Drive in Harrison Township. Ponichtera claims authorities made announcements for the individual to surrender, but the person did not.

When the suspect failed to surrender, the Montgomery County Regional SWAT team was called, but the suspect decided to peacefully surrender.

“As the team was assembling the suspect surrendered peacefully,” said Ponichtera. “The suspect as well as two other people were detained at the scene.”

Dayton Police allege the suspect in the robbery at McDonald’s is the same suspect the department has been looking for in the alleged robbery of an older woman.
