    1 person dead after crash on I-70 Thursday

    CLARK COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) — A woman is dead after a crash overnight Thursday.

    According to the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers were dispatched to I-70, near mile post 66 in Harmony Township, to assist with an investigation of the crash.

    An initial investigation suggests that the driver of a Honda Accord crashed into a parked Freightliner Conventional tractor-trailer after fleeing from officers of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

    The driver was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed westbound on I-70. The crash occurred around 12:43 a.m., after the driver of the Honda attempted to exit to State Route 54 and traveled of the right side of the off ramp roadway.

    The driver was identified as Kylee Harrigan, 19, of Dayton, who was extricated from the vehicle, taken by air ambulance to an area hospital and pronounced deceased.

    The driver of the tractor-trailer combination was uninjured following the crash.

    The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is handling further inquiries related to the crash.
