DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — The Foodbank will host a mass food distribution at UD Welcome Stadium later this week.

The Foodbank, Inc. has planned a free food distribution drive-thru event for Thursday, Sept. 19. The event will be held in the parking lot of the University of Dayton’s Welcome Stadium, located at 1601 S. Edwin C. Moses Boulevard.

Traffic patterns have been adjusted for this year’s event. Arrive at the site via Entrance B on Edwin C. Moses Boulevard and drive around the left side of UD Arena.

Once in line, residents can receive fresh produce and other food items free of charge. The Foodbank asks that people do not arrive before 9 a.m. for safety purposes.

This is a drive-thru event. It is recommended to have plenty of space in the trunk or backseat for food to be placed.

In addition to food, residents will also see distributions of free children’s books from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio. SICSA Pet Adoption and Wellness Center will offer free pet food, and Premier Health will bring their mobile clinic for free biometric readings.

CareSource is sponsoring the event, with employees volunteering to distribute food. CareSource will also provide free toothbrushes.

For those unable to attend the event, the Foodbank offers a pantry locator tool and other resources on their website .
