CLARK COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) — A student in the Tecumseh Local School District is facing a criminal charge and possible expulsion in connection with an online threat.

According to the school district, a student was arrested just before 10 p.m. on Monday night, after local, state and federal agents traced the threat to her social media account.

Tecumseh’s superintendent says the grandparent of another student in the district was the first to report the threat to school officials just after 3 p.m. yesterday afternoon.

Many other people called in reports after that.

“See something, say something. They did that right away,” said Paula Crew, Tecumseh Local Schools superintendent. “We were inundated with texts and phone calls and messages. And I think that’s one of the reasons that led us to being able to locate this person so quickly too.”

Tecumseh’s School Safety Team says Monday’s threat does not appear to be related to what’s happening in nearby Springfield, where schools have face a number of faux bomb treats.

This is just one incident involving a student threatening a school in the past week. In Sidney, a student was arrested for threatening a shooting . In Huber Heights, a student was detained for bringing a weapon to school . In Fairborn, a student brought a replica gun to class and could face expulsion.
