DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Although the Miami Valley had not seen much rainfall in recent weeks, southwest Ohio broke two records related to rainfall.

On Sept. 24, both Dayton and Cincinnati broke rainfall records, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Dayton held a record of 1.15 inches of rain, which was set back in 1945. A recording of 1.50 inches was measured on Tuesday at Dayton International Airport. Cincinnati had reached 1.87 inches in 1972, but surpassed that and reached 2.03 inches at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport in Hebron, Kentucky.

Storm Team 2 is tracking the potential for additional rainfall during the end of the week.
