DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The first business at Miami Township’s new First Flight Commerce Center broke ground Wednesday.

The new business park is a multi-building complex just east of the Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport. Costing $146 million, the commerce center is expected to bring 600 jobs to the area.

The first business, Accelevation, celebrated their new 264,000-square-foot facility with a groundbreaking ceremony. Accelevation’s new facility is an investment of $26 million dollars in the area.

The data company started in Dayton in 2018, with just two machine shops. The company will be able to double their manufacturing footprint at this new facility.

President and CEO Michael Rubiera says they hope to bring hundreds of jobs to the Dayton area.

“We’ll see ridiculous levels of growth. Everyone knows how much people are investing in this category,” said Rubiera. “The Microsofts, the Googles, the Metas — it’s trillions upon trillons of dollars that are going to be invested in the U.S. We’re excided to be a small part of that.”

The company expects to move into the space later this year, with plans to start operations in 2025.
