DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — If you haven’t looked outside, it’s getting a bit windy. Residents in the Miami Valley are in the dark as the remnants of Helene pass through the area.

As of 12:53 p.m., 2,903 AES Ohio customers are without power. You can view all outages below or report one to AES Ohio here .

Duke Energy reports 57 of its customers within the Miami Valley are without power.

Duke Energy crews will be on alert and ready to respond as the storm moves through Friday evening into Saturday. Crews will respond to outages locally as they occur, so long as conditions are safe to work. We also have the ability to shift resources to hard hit areas to assist local crews with power restoration. Our goal is to restore outages as safely and quickly as possible.”

Jeff Brooks, spokesperson for Duke Energy

To report an outage to Duke, either text the word “OUT” to 57801 or click here . Check the status of your Duke outage here .

If you are driving on the roads and come across a downed power line, do not approach it. You should remain in your vehicle and do not touch it.

    What should I have charged?

If the power goes out, you might have a difficult time trying to charge phone. To beat any potential outages, you are encouraged to charge your cell phone and laptops.

Most smartphone users have the ability to manually connect their cellular device to their laptop via a cord. Laptops can be options to charging, especially if you aren’t wanting to visit a friend, family member or restaurant in an attempt to do find a working outlet.
