Foreign Exchange seeks move aside I-675 in Washington Township

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WDTN) — A local automotive service business is looking to move one of its locations to a brand new site.

Documents submitted to the Washington Township Zoning Commission show Foreign Exchange, an auto repair and service station, is seeking to move its location from 643 Miamisburg Centerville Road to build on an undeveloped property on Paragon Road.

The proposed new site would be situated on 1.87 acres of land between Modern Office Methods Dayton and Symphony at Centerville, according to the site plan.

Foreign Exchange appears to be cognizant of making minimal noise, as both commercial and residential areas would surround the new site. The business cites its locations in Moraine and Springboro as being around similar environments.

“We have excellent relationships with those neighbors and have not had any complaints,” said the application. “We are aware of the need to operate a quiet business near our residential and business neighbors.”

To support its initiative in being a good neighbor, the business claims it would not be conducting “heavy engine rebuilds or other activities that generate loud noise.”

The parcel of land is currently zoned by Washington Township as Planned Development Office
District 2, but could be rezoned to Planning Development District 2.

On Oct. 15, the Zoning Commission will hear the case at its 6 p.m. meeting.
