DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The Governor of Ohio has enacted a program that will provide additional relief to 11 Ohio counties that have sustained damage from severe weather events this year.

The program was announced this afternoon and will serve as a reimbursement program for instances where storm damage costs don’t meet the federal aid threshold, but are enough to meet the requirements of the state program.

That program, now in place as of today, is called the State Disaster Relief Program (SDRP). The program will provide supplemental assistance, towards debris removal, protective measures and permanent work, for local governments and eligible, private, non-profit organizations.

Monroe, Darke, Mercer, Cuyahoga, Belmont, Guernsey, Jefferson, Meigs, Monroe, Morgan, Noble and Washington counties will each be eligible for the program based off of weather impacts this year.
