    DeWine orders flags at half-staff until Saturday

    DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Gov. Mike DeWine has ordered flags to be lowered in honor of a first responder.

    According to DeWine, flags across the state have been ordered to be placed at half-staff to honor Troy Bernhard, who served his community as a firefighter and paramedic in northwest Ohio.

    Flags at all public buildings in Wood County, as well as state buildings in Columbus and anywhere else across the state that chooses to show their respect.

    The flags are asked to be remain at half-staff until sunset on Oct. 5, the day of Bernhard’s funeral.
