    Man critically injured during Germantown Street incident was ‘not shot’ according to Police

    DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — New details are being released regarding a chaotic incident on Germantown Street Thursday.

    Just after 1 p.m. on Oct. 3, police responded to a traffic crash in the area of Germantown Street and Mt Clair Avenue. Upon arrival, they found a large crowd, a crash involving a motorcycle and a man that was reportedly shot.

    The large crowd of between 100 and 200 people prompted responding officers to call for county-wide assistance in order to clear the area and establish a perimeter of the crime scene.

    Initial reports determined a motorcyclist had been involved in the crash, and was also shot at some point before or after the crash. The 34-year-old man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

    Police have been investigating the incident since Thursday afternoon, trying to determine what exactly happened.

    Dayton Police Department provided an update Friday morning, reporting that the man hospitalized was not shot, despite initial reports saying so.

    DPD says the man remains in the hospital where he is listed in critical but stable condition.

    A 33-year-old man was arrested for misconduct at an emergency and sent to Montgomery County Jail.

    DPD is asking for anyone who may have information related to this crash and shots fired call to please call 937-333-1149 or Miami Valley Crime Stoppers at 222-STOP.
