    Grants support for domestic violence survivors, families

    DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The Office of Criminal Justice Services (OCJS) awarded financial aid to several agencies that support domestic violence survivors and their families.

    The OCJS provided almost $4 million to 42 counties across the state of Ohio. The federal emergency shelter and supportive services grants will support community non-profits that help victims of family, domestic and dating violence, as well as their families.

    The grants were provided through the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act (FVPSA) Formula Grant to States and Territories , and will fund community programs for 1 year from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025.

    Miami Valley agencies receiving aid include the following:

    • The YWCA Dayton – Montgomery County
    • YWCA Hamilton – Butler County
    • the Artemis Center – Montgomery County
    • the Auglaize County Crisis Center – Auglaize County
    • Project Woman of Ohio – Clark County
    • Violence Free Futures – Greene County
    • TCN Behavioral Health – Greene County
    • Our Home Inc. – Mercer County
    • Family Abuse Shelter of Miami County, Inc. – Miami County
    • New Choices, Inc. – Shelby County
    • SAFE on Main – Warren County
