HARRISON TWP., Ohio ( WDTN ) — A bridge in Harrison Township that passes over I-75 is expected to be closed until fall of next year.

In September, a track hoe being transported on a semi-trailer struck the bridge that carries Stop 8 Road over I-75, causing significant damage to the structure, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Due to the extent of damage, the bridge has been closed to all traffic since the incident. The closure will remain in place until repairs can be made.

ODOT has been approved for emergency funding to expedite the repair process. Officials anticipate construction to begin in late summer 2025 with a completion date set in late fall 2025.

The estimated cost of repairs is $2.2 million. ODOT is working closely with local authorities to make the process move as quickly as possible.
