Wright B Flyer replica makes emergency landing at 97th Wright Field celebration

DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — During the 97th Celebration of Wright Field at Wright Patterson Air Force Base on Thursday, a fire caused a plane and its pilots to make an unexpected landing.

According to officials at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, around 5:07 p.m., a Wright B Flyer replica was performing an aerial flyover. A malfunction caused the engine to catch fire, resulting in an emergency landing.

The pilots of the flyer were reportedly unharmed in the incident. Emergency responders are assessing the scene.
