DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — As I-75 construction shifts to the next phase, the contraflow lanes through Dayton will be discontinued.

The Ohio Department of Transportation shared upcoming traffic pattern changes coming to I-75 through winter. These changes primarily affect I-75 drivers between US-35 and State Route 725.

On Wednesday, Oct. 16, the contraflow lane will be discontinued and the ramp from Dryden Road to southbound I-75 will reopen to traffic. All southbound lanes will return to a normal traffic pattern of three lanes of travel on the southbound side of the highway.

On Monday, Oct. 21, crews will shift northbound travel into a normal traffic pattern on the northbound side, south of SR-741 and the ramp from I-75 south to Dryden Road will reopen.

Between US-35 and SR-741, all lanes in both directions will be shifted to the outside to allow for repairs of the 741 bridge. Bridge repairs are expected to be completed by the end of 2024. Once completed, both directions of I-75 will shift back into the traditional lanes of traffic with shoulders available.

The entire project for this section of I-75 is estimated to be completed by late summer 2025.
