DAYTON, Ohio ( WDTN ) — This weekend, community members will gather to support a victim of quit claim deed fraud.

The “Who Has Your Heart” brunch fundraiser takes place Saturday, Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dayton Metro Library West branch. The library is located at 300 Abbey Ave. in Dayton.

Victims of quit claim deed fraud continue legal battles, yet to retrieve property

Event organizers are looking to raise funds for recent lung cancer survivor and quit claim deed victim Robin Mobley. In July, a judge ruled in favor of Mobley in a case where someone forged her signature and unlawfully took ownership of her home.

In the legal battle, Mobley represented herself. She described the fight as hard and stressful, taxing her mentally, physically and financially. The battle is not over, though, and she’s working to secure legal representation as it continues.

Currently, Mobley owes more than $15,000 in taxes and court costs, plus will have to cover costs for damages to the home. In September, a judge told 2 NEWS her case is now in appellate court.

For more information about the event and to RSVP, email Agenofactor1@gmail.com. Those who cannot make it to the event can also support Mobley through an online fundraiser .
