Tree replacement project happening in Vandalia

VANDALIA, Ohio (WDTN) — Trees growing too large are being removed and replaced in downtown Vandalia.

The trees are damaging the grating and concrete underneath, and they are also barging onto the street, the city said in a Facebook post on Monday.

The work began on Monday along Dixie Drive and National Road, and will continue for a bit over two weeks.

“The trees are being replaced with a more appropriate variety,” the post continued.

Residents are advised to take caution when driving in the area and to be mindful of crews working nearby.
