DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The Humane Society of Greater Dayton shelter has closed for the next couple of weeks.

From Oct. 17 to Nov. 5, the HSGD shelter on Nicholas Road in Dayton will not open for daily public operations due to maintenance.

Pet adoptions will still be conducted, but by appointment only. If you are wanting to see or adopt an animal, you must fill out an online application . Once it has been filled out, a HSGD member will contact you to schedule an appointment.

“We will continue to adopt animals during this time by appointment only and plan to have many adoption events in the community to get animals out for you to see as well,” said HSGD.

During the time period, the Dayton Humane Veterinary Hospital and Spay & Neuter Clinic will operate as normal.

Staff members will have “limited access” to the phones, but will be listening to voicemails.
