Gas leak shuts down Butler Twp. road, repairs to take ‘several hours’

Update: The road has since reopened.

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Crews are on scene of a reported gas leak.

Butler Township police and fire have notified the public to avoid the area of Benchwood Road near Miller Lane. Benchwood Road is closed while crews work to repair a gas leak.

Construction crews reportedly hit a gas line just before 1 p.m. on Oct. 17, causing the leak. Officials say the repairs will take several hours.
