    ‘American Idol’ seeks Ohioans to audition

    DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — If you think you have what it takes to become the next “American Idol,” this could be your chance.

    For season 25, “American Idol” is currently conducting free virtual auditions with producers from individuals across the U.S. The show has assigned certain states to a specific audition date as people from across the country will be attempting to show off their talent.

    ‘Urgent need’: 4 Paws for Ability seeks donations

    Indiana residents can audition on Aug. 28. Ohioans are able to participate in auditions on Sept. 9. Prospective contestants unable to audition during the two dates could participate in the nationwide auditions on Aug. 23 or Sept. 11. A west and Midwest open call will occur Sept. 4.

    There are several eligibility requirements including, but not limited to the following:

    • Born on or between June 2, 1995 to Feb. 15, 2010
    • A legal U.S. resident
    • Not a current candidate for public office or within one year following the final episode, if selected
