Court date set for Blackwell man in attempted arson case
NEWKIRK — A court date is set for Daniel Don Ryan, 49, Blackwell, in Kay County District Court. Ryan is facing a felony charge of attempted first degree arson. Blackwell police report that on May 30 a female came to the police station reporting that Ryan threatened to kill her, himself and a juvenile and that he tried to set the house on fire with a torch.

A father is facing first-degree murder and child abuse after a 10-month-old was found unresponsive. Oklahoma City Police conducted a welfare check call on an apartment complex near Northwest 16th and North Meridian Avenue around 6:45 p.m. on Monday, July 15. The call stated that 10-month-old Ethan Lopez-Monterroso was unresponsive.
