Sammy Guevara Makes His Return During Latest ROH Taping (w/Video)

Back in February, AEW management suspended Sammy Guevara for not following the company’s official concussion protocols. For those unaware, this incident occurred during a match with Jeff Hardy after Guevara accidentally landed on the former WWE star’s face. Yet, despite being told to pin his opponent by the referee, Guevara hit his GTH finishing move instead. And while it’s been known the AEW original suspension ended some time ago, he has remained off television.

However, during Sunday’s Ring of Honor tapings, Guevara would finally make his return on what just happened to be his 31st birthday, saving Dustin Rhodes from The Dark Order with a video of this shared online by @5StarBasile . Whether this was just a one-off appearance for the ROH brand or Guevara is part of their roster from now on remains unknown, although most AEW fans are just happy to see him back doing what he loves following such a long hiatus.

Guevara was one of AEW’s first signings and would make his debut at the promotion’s inaugural event, Double or Nothing, losing to Kip Sabian. Still, despite this loss, his career really took off when he was hand-picked by Chris Jericho to be part of his Inner Circle stable, which was a focal point of AEW in its infancy. This would lead to him holding the AEW TNT Championship on three occasions, establishing him as a prominent part of the company’s midcard.
