Several months ago, speculation commenced that Kayla Braxton’s future might not be with WWE as she changed her handle on social media to reflect her legal surname, Becker. Therefore, it wasn’t a massive surprise when, not long afterward, she announced she was departing WWE, with her final show being the June 28 episode of SmackDown. And now, while appearing on the Nikki & Brie Show , Becker has opened up about her decision to leave the company.

“I just realized within myself after eight years, I’ve done everything I can do here. You know how the schedule is at WWE. It’s very hard to do anything else you want to do. I just felt like I was starting to miss out on opportunities outside of the company. I wasn’t doing much anymore at my former position. I just had to make the decision, not knowing necessarily what I was about to do in that moment, but I had to walk away. It was all amicable, I just knew it was time for me to peace out.”

33-year-old Becker had been with WWE since 2016, initially debuting as a ring announcer for NXT. From there, she became a regular backstage interviewer on numerous pay-per-views before permanently departing NXT and joining the main roster in August 2019. Additionally, she memorably co-hosted WWE’s popular online interview show, The Bump, although she would eventually leave this role to focus on her other WWE responsibilities.
